{All About} Alterations
You got your gown! Yasss, girl!
Now it’s time for the next step: alterations!
Allow us to answer all of your burning questions about your bridal fittings!
When should a bride start alterations?
3-months out is best! Seamstresses are EXTREMELY busy and book up quickly! Once you have your ship date, you can reach out to the seamstress of your choice and add your name into her books!
What are typical alterations a bride needs on her gown?
Almost all girls need straps tightened, bust tuck, hem and bustle! Obviously if you lose weight in-between ordering and your dress coming in, you will need more! Everyone needs nipping and tucking, so don't let alterations stress you out!
How much do alterations typically cost?
Typically most girls pay between $300 and $400 with our seamstresses!
Obviously, some girls need more and some need less work, so alteration bills will vary, but that is a good estimate!
Can a seamstress do custom alterations on a gown - add sleeves, straps, etc?
Yes! Ask your stylist what can and can not be added! You can add straps and sleeves to most gowns!
Can I add a piece of my mother/grandmother's gown or "something blue" to the inside of my dress?
Yes! We love this special added touch! It can be added to the bust near your heart, on your train, etc! Just make sure to mention it in your 1st fitting and your seamstress will let you know what she needs!
What if I gained or lost weight since ordering my gown?
Alterations can take in and let out gowns! Don't stress about it!
Your seamstress has your back and you will be gorgeous on your wedding day!
