A boho dream!!

Introducing our gorgeous bride, Melitza!

For her destination wedding in Mexico, Melitza wore a beautifully unique lace gown by All Who Wander!

As you can see, she was a total showstopper!

Before the ceremony, Melitza and her hubby, Donald, shared a sweet first look together!

Melitza and Donald were married in an absolutely beautiful oceanside ceremony at Dreams Natura Resort in Cancun, Mexico!

“My favorite part of my wedding was walking down the isle. My wedding was a destination wedding at a resort in Mexico. The ceremony took place outside next to the pool. I thought it was going to be awkward having all these people staring at my ceremony the entire time but it actually wasn't. While I was waiting to walk down the isle everyone was cheering for me, taking pictures and clapping. They actually started to make me cry before I even started walking. I loved it! Then to turn the corner and see all the people I loved gathered together there for us was incredible! By far my favorite moment.”

How did the newlyweds first meet?

“We met in 2014 through my cousin. My cousin and him went to high school together. One night another friend they went to high school with came up from Texas to visit. They were all getting together at a bar in Highland. I went with my cousin that night to hang out. That's where we first met and hit it off from there.”

How did Donald pop the question?

“He proposed to me on Christmas Eve 2022 at my brother's house. My family gets together and celebrates Christmas eve every year. He got up in front of my entire family and popped the question.

I was totally surprised! I had no idea he was going to ask.”

After she got over the shock of the proposal, it was time for Melitza to find her wedding dress!

“I had a wonderful experience! I grew up watching “Say Yes to the Dress” and have always dreamed of a similar experience as that. Something Blue was the first and only boutique I went to to, to find my dress. The staff was amazing! My stylist made me feel comfortable and every bit of special! It was everything I could have asked for.”

How did she know her dress was "the one"?

“I had a totally different dress style in mind when I went in, but I had an open mind and was willing to try on different styles. My sister picked out a couple boho dresses and the moment I put them on I knew that it was the perfect style to go with instead. The moment I saw my dress on with the veil I knew I was the one. The fit of the dress, the style and how comfortable it actually was made me fall in love.”

What was her favorite {and least fave} part of the whole wedding planning process?

“My favorite part was picking out the colors and style of my wedding. My dress was boho and I feel I needed to bring that aspect in but also I'm half Mexican and my wedding was also a destination wedding in Mexico so I wanted to incorporate that in also. I just had fun bringing in the brighter colors mixed with some boho and Mexican aspects!

My least favorite part was the seating chart. I had to deal with a lot of switching around the tables due to people dropping out and people joining in.”

Finally, what is the best piece of advice Melitza has for current brides-to-be?

“Try not to stress to much. I know you want everything to be perfect but sometimes it just might not work out that way and it is OK! Do not let it ruin the rest of your big day because in the end I promise you, it won't matter. All that matters is that you and your partner take in every moment and celebrate your love!”
