How did the newlyweds first meet??

“My husband, Bradley and I met on Bumble in September of 2020. We went on our first date shortly after meeting at Tavern on Main and we were so interested in conversation we forgot to order dinner.”

How did Bradley pop the question?

“Bradley proposed on February 19, 2021 in our chicken coop. I had absolutely no idea it was going to happen. He left the house early that morning and went to ask my parents permission. On his way home he texted me and asked if I wanted to go to breakfast. This being one of my favorite things to do I said yes and quickly got out of bed and threw on some clothes to leave. He returned home while I finished getting dressed and said he was going to take care of some chicken chores before we left. This was a normal occurrence in our house and I didn't give it any thought until he texted me to come outside. My first thought was what could he possibly need my help with. I was less than thrilled and threw on a large pair of oversized black and yellow fire muck boots and headed out the door. I walked to the chicken coop and didn't see him and yelled out to find him. He said he was inside the chicken coop, my first thought was that the chickens died overnight from the cold. Preparing to see the worst, I opened the door and there he was on one knee with a ring and said "Will you raise chickens with me forever?" I immediately burst into tears and said yes.”

After saying “yes!” to Bradley, it was time to say “yes!” to the dress!

“My dress buying experience was a fun experience! I came with my mom, aunts, grandma, maid and matrons of honor (sister and childhood best friend) and my future mother-in-law. We planned a day and went to two dress stores to explore. Prepped with my Pinterest board of inspiration I headed into the store ready to find the one. I was quickly overwhelmed with all the dresses and styles and grew a large try-on pile very quickly.  Almost immediately I discovered the image of what I thought was my dress was not what I liked on myself. I finished my first appointment but had not found the one I love yet. After a quick stop for lunch we made our way to Something Blue and began the process again. We picked many dresses and headed towards the fitting room. I remember trying on dresses and beginning to feel discouraged. I know that not everyone finds their dress on their first dress shopping experience. It wasn't until I put on my dress that things changed. I remember putting it on and immediately fell in love with it. Something about the small details all worked together to make me feel so elegant. I walked out to show my entourage and stood in front of the mirror admiring the dress. Things felt different in this dress, I could picture myself in this dress walking down the aisle then suddenly I made an amazing discovery. This dress had POCKETS! It was almost that in this instant moment I knew this was my dress. It finally felt real, it was my dress and I was ready to say yes.”

What was her favorite {and not-so-favorite} part of wedding planning?

“My favorite part of wedding planning was exploring and finding inspiration. Pinterest and Wedding TikTok were my best friends. Between my fiancé, mom and bridal party we were consistently sending ideas and content amongst each other. We used many of these ideas and inspiration for our big day. My least favorite part was managing the guest list. It can be very overwhelming and stressful when figuring out whom to invite as well as navigating requests from others as people that we should invite. It was the most stressful part and took a long time to narrow down our list into a more reasonable list.”

Looking back, what is Savannah’s favorite memory from her big day?

“My favorite moment of our wedding day was after the ceremony when we exited the church and then were ushered into the bridal suite to wait for pictures. It was the first moment my husband and I were together, just us on our special day. We took the moment to embrace one another and just talked about the day so far. It was a brief moment lasting only about 10 minutes but we talked and shared our excitement of our marriage and for the upcoming reception.”

What is Savannah’s best piece of advice for brides currently planning their own wedding?

“My biggest piece of advice for brides to be is to enjoy every moment leading up to the wedding and celebrate. It felt like we were planning our wedding for such a long time then suddenly it came and went. Find the joy in each moment because it will last with you forever.”

Happy One Year Anniversary, Savannah & Bradley!!
