A vision in crepe!

Introducing our gorgeous bride, Steffanie!

For her spring wedding, Steffanie looked so beautiful in her fitted crepe gown from SBB’s exclusive Private Collection, Emilia Leray!

The lace details in the bodice and train are stunning!

When it came to flowers, Steffanie kept things classic!

She worked with Jacqueline Contreras at Strack and Van Til in Highland to bring her vision to life!

Steffanie married the love of her life, Milorad, at the historic Courthouse on the Crown Point Square!

“My favorite moment was the ceremony. It was simple and elegant and exactly what I was hoping for.”

After the newlyweds said I do, they continued the party in The Grand ballroom!

How did the newlyweds first meet?

“We actually met through work. I work for a bank and he was a client who visited the location I used to work at.”

How did Milorad pop the question?

“We are a very low key couple so his proposal was very simple and very us. For our 4 year anniversary he gave me a white box that contained a Disney ornament that opened up and "Will you marry me" was printed inside with the ring.”

Was it a surprise or did Steffanie know it was coming?

“We had many many discussions, but I had no idea when he was going to ask me. It wasn't completely unexpected but it was definitely a surprise.”

The next step was saying “yes” to the dress!

“I went to another location before visiting Something Blue but had no luck. There were so many gorgeous dresses that I tried at Something Blue and the stylist who helped was phenomenal. After trying on a few she knew exactly what to pull for me. It was so far from what I had expected myself to fall in love with, but it was PERFECT!”

How did Steffanie know her dress was "the one"?

“I didn't want to take it off! I am simple and prefer lounge where on a regular basis but in my dress, I felt good and still like I was being true to myself.”

When it came to wedding planning, what was her favorite part of the process?

“I am NOT a planner, which meant my bridesmaids had to step in and help me A LOT! I really enjoyed getting to spend the extra time with them and create my dream wedding.”

What about her least favorite part?

“Since I am not a natural planner, having to think and handle SO many things were definitely my least favorite parts. I had no idea just how much went into planning a wedding. I also had no idea how many different options there were for EVERYTHING. From save the dates to invites, center piece options and what flowers to choose. Finding the perfect one took time and lots and lots of patience with my overly eager self.”

What is the best piece of advice Steffanie has for brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?

“Make sure you take the time to truly take it all in. I often let myself become overwhelmed with all the planning and preparation and I wish I had allowed myself to just completely enjoy it. And the day off....it goes SO FAST. Don't stress the little things, just enjoy every single moment of the day...and be prepared to spend a lot of time taking pictures. SO MANY PICTURES but they are well worth it!”

Congratulations, Steffanie and Milorad!
