Jessica’s flowers were so gorgeous, all thanks to The Bonnie View!
We’re loving the boho vibes in her bouquets!
Before walking down the aisle, Jessica and her soon-to-be hubby, Nick, shared a sweet first look together!
They also read their vows to each other in private. SO special!

Jessica and Nick were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Marion Magnolia Farms in Cassopolis, Michigan!

The reception was held inside the barn and was SO pretty!
Instead of traditional wedding fare, the happy couple opted for food trucks to feed their guests! Yes, please!

How did the newlyweds first meet?
“We have been best friends since high school but always dated other people. Years later after I had graduated college and he returned home from deployment he invited me "as a friend" to his military ball and I caught feelings, HARD. But it still wasn't until a year or so after that when we moved back to the same city that our friendship turned into the love we have today. Funny enough, we unknowingly planned our wedding on the same date as that ball- 6 years later.”
How did Nick pop the question?
“We had gone on a cruise to the Bahamas and after spending the day swimming, jet skiing, and relaxing on one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to, we decided to go for a walk before sunset. Nick is more of a low-key person so I made peace with the fact that when the time came, there likely wouldn't be photos or videos of the proposal itself. To my surprise, he asked a lovely couple to take our photo to commemorate our vacation and got down on one knee instead. Don't ask me what he said because I completely blacked out and ugly cried.”
Was it a surprise or did Jessica know it was coming?
“Both? Nick is such a routine guy so it was easy to pick up that he had gone ring shopping but when we were nearing the end of our trip and it hadn't happened yet I second-guessed myself. Turns out, he had spent the entire trip plotting and waiting for the perfect place and moment.”
Time to talk about our fave topic - dress shopping!
“I had visited Something Blue before when my maid of honor went dress shopping herself. Even as a guest, I could tell the patience and excitement all of the ladies had in helping her choose her perfect dress so I had no question in deciding where to go for mine. I seriously felt so special and cared for during my appointment. My stylist was so detailed in helping me understand what exactly I loved/ didn't love about each dress so she could pull more options specifically tailored to what I was looking for. The dress I chose was exactly what I had imagined but I don't think it was even one I pulled myself at the start.”
How did she know her dress was "the one"?
“Total gut instinct. I had a pretty specific vision for what I wanted but also wanted to keep my options open and try things I otherwise might not have picked. There were some strong contenders but ultimately when I put on MY dress I didn't want to take it off. And just like on TV, I cried.”
What was Jessica’s favorite part of the planning process?
“From the beginning Nick and I knew we wanted to plan a wedding that was less traditional and more emphasis on just having FUN. Yes, the day was about our love but we knew our love would not be possible without our family and friends so we wanted to plan something everyone would truly enjoy. Cue the food trucks, ice cream cart, champagne gun, etc.”
What about her LEAST favorite part?
“Feeling the pressure from social media of what the ideal wedding should look like and seeing so much trend shaming. It can be fun to use social media to find inspiration but it's important to remind yourself that your wedding is about what you and your future spouse like and that the opinions of others don't matter.”
What was her favorite moment of her wedding day?
“The overwhelming feeling of love and support we felt the entire day. Such a surreal feeling to be surrounded by all of the most important people in your life while marrying the love of your life.”
What is the best piece of advice Jessica can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?
“The things you're stressing about likely aren't worth the time stressing about them. Things will inevitably go wrong and if you let yourself focus on them, you'll miss out on enjoying everything that went right.”
Congratulations, Jessica and Nick!! We are SO happy for y’all!
