Isn’t she stunning??
Introducing our beautiful bride, Anna!
For her August wedding, Anna chose a sparkling, lacy A-line gown by Essense of Australia!
The color, the strappy back, the full skirt - we are simply obsessed with her gorgeous gown!

All of Anna’s beautiful florals were created by someone very special - her mother!
They turned out so pretty!
Before the ceremony, Anna and her very soon-to-be hubby, Nick, shared a sweet first look outside of the venue!

Anna and Nick were married in a beautiful ceremony at The Sanctuary on Penn in Indianapolis!
We’re in love with this historic venue!

The reception decor was so fun - with a mix of books, florals and our fave part - disco balls!
Anna lived out our dream of changing into the CUTEST party dress for the dancing portion of the evening!

How did Anna and Nick first meet?
“We met in high school! He DM’d me on Instagram and I didn’t know who he was or that we went to the same high school. I had just gotten my braces off and posted a selfie, and he commented on that selfie. Then we met at my locker. We made plans to go to his hockey game and open skate after. He asked me to be his girlfriend there.”
How cute is that?!
How did Nick pop the question?
“In December of last year we went to Key West on vacation. We went to go watch the sunset at Fort Zachary Taylor park. It was right at sunset with sailboats in the background. It was perfect! We facetimed our friends and family and then got a nice dinner and key lime pie of course!”
Did she suspect it was about to happen?
“Even though we had been dating 9 years, I wasn’t sure when it was going to happen. He seemed a little nervous at the beach and he seemed to want to keep finding the “perfect spot” to watch the sunset.”
Anna found her beautiful dress at our sister store - The One!
How was her dress buying experience?
“I live in Indy but my parents live in Schererville. I was home on winter break from my teaching job and my mom and I thought it would be fun to look at some dresses. We made multiple appointments but our first one was at The One. It was just my mom and I and our bridal stylist! We pulled so many fun and different dresses to try. I had three I loved but ultimately picked my dress because of the gorgeous detail. I picked my dress because I felt comfortable, happy in it. I wanted something I could move and dance in. A-line was definitely the style for me so the final two dresses were similar in some ways.”
What was Anna’s favorite {and least fave} part of wedding planning?
“My favorite part of the planning process was cake tasting! We went to Top Tier Cakes and Jenna was amazing at making sure our cake vision came to life. Our tasting was delicious, she had individual jar cakes all decorated and frosted for us to try each flavor combination.
My least favorite part of planning was the worry of all the little individual pieces of the wedding coming together. I was so excited about each individual plan and booking we made but it was hard at times to see the whole vision and make sure everything was lined up and ready to go the day of.”
Looking back, what is Anna’s favorite memory from her big day?
“My favorite wedding moment was right after we were married and we were whisked away to a side room. We got married at a beautiful old church turned wedding venue so there was a hidden stairwell and getting ready room where our day-of coordinator had champagne and our cocktail hour appetizers plated for us. We just shared some quiet moments together as a newly married couple and watched as our loved ones lined up outside to do our confetti toss and grand exit. It was the most perfect day.”
Does she have any advice for brides who are currently dealing with the stresses of wedding planning?
“The one piece of advice I would give to a bride-to-be is to RELAX. It’s easier said than done but it truly is necessary. There is too much time/money/energy going into this special day to not relax and enjoy it. Laugh at any mishaps day of, go with the flow, let people help and celebrate you, and just keep in mind it is about you two sharing your love.”
Wise words!
