Is that a ballgown or is that a BALLGOWN??

Introducing our beautiful bride, Meghan!

For her winter wedding, Meghan looked stunning in her strapless, classic ballgown by Essense of Australia!

Paired with a Jaxie belt and Bel Aire veil, Meghan was gorgeous on her big day!

Meghan worked with Mary Lea's Floral Company to create her gorgeous floral arrangements!

Everything came out so perfect and we are loving the classic ivory and green!

Before her big walk down the aisle, Meghan and her very soon-to-be hubby, Gabe, shared a special first look together.

They also shared their vows during this intimate moment!

Meghan and Gabe were married in the ceremony room at Allure on the Lake in Chesterton!

After the couple said “I do”, everyone headed to the reception room to celebrate!

The decor was GORG - we are obsessed with all the romantic candles!

How did the newlyweds first meet?

“We met in college! During welcome week, Gabe got my snapchat and added me, but never messaged me. On New Years' Eve, Gabe posted a selfie on his story and I messaged him. We talked non-stop from that day on!”

How did Gabe pop the question?

“We were visiting Saugatuck, MI for our four year anniversary and he popped the question! We had gone ring shopping together a few months prior and talked about getting married a lot, so it wasn't much of a surprise. He proposed in the cabin we were staying in. It was perfect being just us!”

When they got home, it was time to plan!

First stop: wedding gown shopping!

“I tried on over 100 dresses and went to 7 stores before going to Something Blue. After trying on so many dresses, I had a very specific vision of what I wanted but was having difficulty actually finding that dress. I have a difficult time "picturing it" so suggestions of how dresses could be altered weren't helpful for me. My luck in the South Bend area had run out, so I planned a day to Chicago with Something Blue as the first stop. A week before my appointment, their Wedding Gown Wednesday was a new dress they just got in. I sent it to my Maid of Honor immediately saying how I had to try on that one. Shannon helped me pick out some other dresses to try, along with taking that one off the mannequin. As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the exact dress I was looking for! Before saying yes to my dress, we went to the second appointment of the day in Illinois since they required a deposit that was non-refundable if you didn't show up to the appointment. They had the exact same dress there and I tried it on again, solidifying that it was my dress. We left that appointment and immediately called Shannon back to let her know we were on our way to purchase it. Ultimately, Shannon's (and the entire SBB team's) expertise and helpfulness was what made me purchase my gown from them!”

What was Meghan’s favorite part of the planning process?

“I am a huge planner and used to be in the industry so I really enjoyed the entire wedding planning process. My favorite part was seeing everything come together on the day of. Before my hair and makeup, I had the chance to see the reception hall when set up was done and it was everything I could have asked for. Our vendors did such an amazing job executing my vision!”

What about her least favorite part?

“Waiting on RSVPs and dealing with last-minute RSVPs was my least favorite part! RSVPs come in so slowly and it really makes you worry about who will all actually be there."

Looking back, what’s Meghan’s favorite moment of her wedding day?

“Our last song of the evening was Bohemian Rhapsody. My vision for picking this song was that everyone would be in a circle on the dance floor singing along and that is exactly what happened! I had a few moments looking around at all of our loved ones together on the dance floor thinking "wow, this is real life" and was overjoyed that was how the night ended. It was definitely a core-memory moment for me.”

What is the best piece of advice Meghan can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?

“Take it one day at a time! There are a LOT of big and little decisions that go into planning a wedding. Breaking things down is a great way to not get so overwhelmed by the long list of to-dos. Decision fatigue is also definitely a real thing, but try not to let others tell you what they think you should do. Make your day what you and your partner truly want and it will be nothing short of amazing!”

Congratulations, Meghan and Gabe!!
