Chelsea and her very soon-to-be hubby, Cameron, decided to share a special first look together before the ceremony!

Chelsea and Cameron were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the garden at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso!

The reception was held in Aberdeen’s ballroom and was stunning!

The happy couple went all out with decor, lighting and of course the snowfall during the first dance!

The newlyweds first met at a West Lafayette hot spot…

“Cameron and I met two days before he was graduating from Purdue at a bar, The Neon Cactus. I was going out with a good friend of mine in my major and Cameron was going out with a good friend in his major, and the two of them actually were roommates at Purdue so it was a small world! Cameron and I were both starting jobs in Chicago that summer and we didn't live too far apart, so we kept talking and now almost 8 years later, we are now married and starting a new chapter in life together! Our mutual friends that we met through were actually the ushers in our wedding which meant so much to both of us.”

How did Cameron pop the question?

“The day before my birthday in 2022, we were living together in downtown Chicago and making plans for my birthday weekend and asked each other “when’s the last time either of us have just walked around at Navy Pier and enjoyed the views?”  So that’s what we did! But beforehand Cameron took me for a walk at this park along the lake and he asked a woman sitting on a bench to take our picture. Turns out it was a photographer he hired to capture the moment when he was proposing with the Chicago skyline in the background! It was amazing!”

Was it a surprise or did Chelsea have a feeling it was coming?

“I knew it was coming soon but just didn’t know when exactly. I also knew something was sort of up when he was trying to make a ton of plans (and I’m always the planner in the relationship) but he convinced me it was all just for my birthday so I was pretty surprised when he got down on one knee that day.”

After she secured the ring, it was time to secure the dress!

“At first my dress buying experience was a little overwhelming. I went shopping with my best friend, my mom, Cameron's mom and my cousin. I wasn't quite sure what I was wanting style wise and ended up trying one dress on I thought that I loved but my mom could tell it wasn't the one for me. I felt bad leaving Something Blue that day without a dress in hand but knew I still had plenty of time. I ended up going back to Something Blue a couple months later much more calm and relaxed, and took aspects of that original dress I liked and found another dress that ended up being "the one"! Sandy at Something Blue also made my entire dress shopping experience so enjoyable and was so patient with me!”

How did she know her dress was "the one"?

“I knew my dress was "the one" almost immediately after putting it on. I felt so confident in the dress and the train was absolutely beautiful! As soon as I saw how it sparkled without the lights on I started tearing up. And the best part, it had pockets!!”

What was Chelsea’s favorite part of planning her big day?

“My favorite part of the planning process was taking lessons for our first dance. It was a great way to spend quality time together every single week during the planning chaos. Cameron and I loved it so much we are going to continue to take dance lessons together!”

What about her least favorite part??

“The amount of stress wedding planning caused me for sure! Even though I had over 2 years to plan our wedding, it was still extremely stressful trying to balance planning such a big event on top of my full-time corporate job and personal life.”

Looking back on her special day, does Chelsea have a favorite moment?

“Our first look! I normally am the emotional one, but Cameron was speechless when he saw me and immediately started tearing up. Also, getting to see our reception hall before any of our guests. It was amazing to see my vision for my wedding come to life!”

What is the best piece of advice Chelsea can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their own wedding?

“As hard as it may be sometimes, remember this day is about you and starting this next chapter in your life with your future husband. If you want to do something a certain way, then do it! It’s your day and you’re the one who spent so much time planning this one day so make sure you enjoy it!”

Congratulations, Chelsea + Cameron!!
