How did Elizabeth and Will first meet?
“Through a mutual friend who suggested that I add him on Facebook. A few weeks later he looked at my car for all of 2 minutes and stayed for at least an hour.”
How did Will pop the question?
“He proposed to me on one knee in Michigan in front of a light house.”
Was it a surprise or did she know it was coming?
“I knew it was coming. He knew what he was wearing that day and suggested I get my nails done.”
How did Elizabeth find her gorgeous gown?
“I shopped at a place online that let's you try them on at home then ship them back and another store in the area. They had beautiful dresses, they just didn’t have the one. Shannon was wonderful. She helped me feel confident and knew if I didn't like a dress and wouldn’t make me show my family and friends who were with me. Everything was explained so clearly about how the experience would go and I never felt pressured to buy something. It was absolutely wonderful.”
How did she know her dress was "the one"?
“Once I put the dress on I just knew. It was everything I had envisioned I would wear since I was a kid. I always felt like I'd have a sweetheart neckline and I could see myself walking down the aisle to my fiancé.”
When it came to planning her wedding, what was Elizabeth’s favorite part of the process?
“Finding my dress and picking our wedding colors which helped me color coordinate our invitations.”
What about her least favorite part?
“All the last minute reminders and repeating of details the week of and the day of. I became so overwhelmed and overstimulated the day of the wedding.”
Looking back, what is Elizabeth’s favorite memory from her big day?
“I have a few, our ceremony was beautiful. Our Pastor made it so personable. My other favorite moments include both first looks with my dad and my fiance, and then my Maid of Honor catching the bouquet.”
Does she have any advice for brides-to-be who are currently planning their own big day?
“If you can afford it have someone decorate your church and venue. It was so stressful having to do it myself.
Make sure you keep a list of all the photos and video footage you want and give to them so the things important to you get captured.
If you don't give your guest a plus one don't be afraid to tell them that and explain that their plus one can either come for just the ceremony or after dinner. Weddings are expensive and I felt like some people forgot that.
Print out all your details to give to your vendors and 2 people you trust as well that way they can answer all questions from that folder.”
Congratulations, Will + Elizabeth!
