Introducing our gorgeous bride, Grace!

For her fall wedding, Grace looked incredible in a fitted, crepe gown from SBB’s private label, Emilia Leray!

Paired with a veil from Bel Aire Bridal, she looked absolutely stunning!

Grace entrusted the florists at the Valpo Strack and Van Til to create all of her bouquets and floral arrangements!

So pretty!

Grace and her very soon-to-be hubby, Trent, shared a sweet first look together before the hustle and bustle of their big day!

Grace and Trent were married in a beautiful church ceremony!

After the happy couple was pronounced man and wife, everyone headed to the Urschel Pavilion in downtown Valparaiso for the reception!

How did the newlyweds first meet?

“Trent and I met at a part time job the summer of 2016. He was ultra shy back then—but we definitely had a connection and his crush on me was not subtle!  I went back to school in the fall that year, but returned to Valpo in 2020. Trent claims that he waited all those years for me to move back, so when I did, he asked me out golfing on our first date and the rest is history!”

How did Trent pop the question?

“He proposed April 29, 2022 at the summit of trail 9 at the Indiana Dunes. That hike is pretty standard for us and doesn’t usually require drinks or snacks, but he insisted on bringing a backpack with us that particular day. I thought that was odd but didn’t think too much of it. When we got to the top of the trail, he proposed, I said yes, and he pulled out a bottle of wine and Pestos’ famous vodka chicken for a beach picnic! I did not see it coming and was extremely surprised (as you can tell by my outfit that day lol)!”

After that, it was time to find her dress!

How was Grace’s gown shopping experience?

“My dress shopping experience was excellent! My mom, aunt, two best friends, sister in law, and mother in law all were able to come. The girls at SBB were so kind and made me feel incredible the whole time. I knew my specific dress was the one by the way that I felt in it, as well as from the feedback from my “team!” It just was so me from the time I put it on—there was no question!”

What was her favorite {and least favorite} part of wedding planning?

“My favorite part of the planning process was spending so much quality time with my mom. We had so much fun together planning out the day and all the details that were important to Trent and I. Incorporating a lot of our favorite things and holding the reception in the heart of our hometown was a dream!

My least favorite part was budgeting (lol) and making/stressing over “small detail” decisions that don’t matter at all in hindsight.”

Now that the wedding is over, is there a special memory she likes to look back on?

“My favorite moment of the wedding was our first kiss as a married couple and then entering the reception with my new husband in the presence of all our favorite people! My maid of honor speeches were also so special.”

Does Grace have any advice for brides who are currently in the middle of planning their own big day?

“My best piece of advice to a bride to be is to enjoy the process! It can get overwhelming, but it’s a period of your life you will never get back. Your wedding is about you, don’t let other people make it about them!”

Congratulations, Grace and Trent!!
