Introducing our gorgeous bride, Mackenna!

For her October wedding, Mackenna looked amazing in a sheath gown by Essense of Australia!

We aren’t sure what we love most about this gown - the lace details, the cutie short sleeves or that gorgeous back!

All of Mackenna’s beautiful florals were provided by Merrillville Florist & Tea Room!

They were so gorgeous!

Mackenna married her hubby, Dylan, at The Pavilion at Sandy Pines!

Even a rainy day looks absolutely gorgeous at this venue!

After the couple said their “I do’s”, everyone celebrated the happy couple with a reception under the pavilion!

How did the newlyweds first meet?

“We worked together at Dick's Sporting Goods while we were in college!”

And how did Dylan pop the question??

“He proposed in front of the Christmas tree in Chicago!”

So cute! Was it a surprise or did Mackenna know it was coming?

“It was a surprise! I thought we were just going to the city to look at Christmas lights.”

Let’s talk about all things dress shopping!

“We went in May 2022 to shop the Essense of Australia trunk show. Almost every dress I picked out and tried on was from the trunk show (Essense of Australia has amazing dresses). I was describing things that I liked and disliked in the dresses I had picked out to try on, when one of the representatives from Essense of Australia said she thought she had the perfect dress for me. When she put the dress in the room, I knew the dress was the one just from it sitting on the hanger. Everyone in the shop came and looked at me in the dress . The whole staff really made me feel so special and made the process of finding my dress so easy.”

How did Mackenna know her dress was "the one"?

“I knew right away when I saw the dress on the hanger before I even tried it on. It had every single detail that I wanted in a dress. As soon as I put it on, I remember saying "Yup, this is it". When I walked out, hearing everyone's reaction only confirmed it more. I knew it was the one because I could not stop smiling when I had it on and I really didn't want to try on any more dresses.”

What was her favorite {and least favorite} part of wedding planning?

“My favorite part of the planning process was being able to be creative and add personal details to the wedding to make it unique to us. Everyone loved the personal details we added!

My least favorite part was stressing about the little things. They were things I didn't need to stress about and had little effect on the day, and I needed to accept that not everything was going to be 100% perfect.”

Looking back, does Mackenna have any special memories from the wedding?

“My favorite moment of my wedding day was walking up to the alter and hearing Dylan say "wow, you look so good". It was just such a sweet moment, and it honestly took my mind off all the eyes on us.”

What is the best piece of advice Mackenna can give brides-to-be who are currently planning their big day?

“The best piece of advice I can give brides-to-be is DO NOT stress about every little thing. I know it is easier said than done and there is so much to think about and plan. But not everything is going to be 100% perfect and you just have to accept it. Most times your guests won't even notice if something goes wrong. When planning, it is so easy to keep looking at Pinterest and TikTok and think those are things you want to do, and it can get discouraging when you start looking into the prices of everything. It is YOUR wedding. Enjoy it and enjoy planning it. Do not stress under the pressure of social media and what your wedding should look like or be.”

Congratulations, Mackenna and Dylan! And happy soon-to-be one year anni!!
